CRUCIFIX

The Crucifixion painting, is possibly an original 17th century piece by Juan de las Roelas, which Bishop Goold purchased in Europe in 1853. The elaborate frame is a gift of Mr A. De Freitas, made by the house of Messrs J & T Thallon. Note Bishops Goold's Coat of Arms, angels and other motifs painted on the coffered, cedar ceiling installed in 1850.
